Garbage Record Book (MCA) valid from 01.01.2018, 11th impression 2017 This amended Garbage Record Book is used on board vessels to record discharges from and incinerations on board ships. It contains the latest guidance in accordance with regulation 10 of Annex V of the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships, 1973, as modified by the Protocol of 1978 (MARPOL), a record is to be kept of each discharge operation or completed by incineration. This includes discharges into the sea, to reception facilities, or to other ships, as well as the accidental loss of garbage. Due to the changes made to MARPOL Annex V - Garbage, the Garbage Record Book has been amended to reflect these changes. The amendments to MARPOL Annex V Garbage come into effect internationally from the 1 January 2018.
